My Must-Haves For Our Next Home

It’s very likely that our next home is going to be the one we have a family in. In less than two years we’ll be married and I think by that point we’ll be thinking of either moving right after or doing it within a year. And so it’s got me thinking about what I really want to have that are must-haves and will, therefore, dictate whether we say yes or no to a property.

Parking

Even though we don’t own a car yet, we’ve seen first hand how useful it is to have a parking space. To be honest, I think we would like to get ourselves a car before we move because I think we are approaching the point where we need it. I’m planning to take driving lessons in 2024 (the year we get married), so hopefully, we can time it all well.

A Possibility To Extend Or Convert

Luckily, we’ve not needed to use a company like Westchase Roofing to do any roof work because we’re not currently responsible for it. However, because we’re going to find a freehold property next time instead of a leasehold, we’ll be responsible for all the exterior aspects of the property. One thing that I’m hoping for is that the property has the potential to be extended. Whether that’s an extension on the ground floor or a loft space that can be converted. This is because I want the opportunity to do something extra to it later down the line.

Walk-In Wardrobe

I’ve come to the realisation that Sam has the same, if not more clothes than I do. And that means we’ve already got too much clothing in our wardrobes. A walk-in wardrobe is kind of a dream request but there are a lot of properties now that have seem to have catered for current tenants who want a taste of that bougie life. And I’m one of those people!

An Office Space

As I’ll be going freelance in September (it’s pretty much confirmed), I need an office space to do my work. While living in London, I have plans to join a member’s club which I can go to a few times a week to work in a social environment. When we move, however, we’re not going to really have that so I need to ensure that the property has a good office space that I can use and then shut out of at the end of the day. It’s important that I stop taking my work into other rooms.

A Hotel Bathroom

I always used to have a bath when I was younger and that’s something I’m trying to indulge in every so often when I get stressed out and need to relax. However, I do prefer a shower over the two now. For the next property, I would love to have a bathroom that has all the quality features of a hotel bathroom. His and hers sinks, a stand-alone bathroom, a sizeable rainfall shower and illuminated LED mirrors. Not asking for much, right guys?
