After getting our first plants at a nearby garden centre (and even though I’ve killed one of them), I love that we have a bit of indoor nature in our home. It’s amazing how just a bit of greenery can help lift your mood and it’s totally true that it improves the atmosphere and just adds a level of calm and tranquility to a space. Our walls are pretty bare so it’s also nice to add a bit more colour to the room while we work on getting more wall art and shelves onto the wall.

After killing one plant and seeing the other one dying – I think I actually managed to kill it by overwatering – I kept seeing a company called Patch Plants show up on my social media feeds. They had a lot more variety than the garden centre so I thought I’d take a look and find some suitable plants that are virtually un-killable. The first one is called a Snake Plant and I loved that it had a thick, cactus-like leaf. It’s not a fussy plant and it just stands all majestic and proud in the corner of our living room. I still had plenty of soil leftover from the last time so I took it out of its original pot and planted it in our plant stands.
The plants come in various sizes and I picked the medium-sized version . I also like how you can buy plant pots to go with them if you haven’t got any of your own, which I think I’m going to try out when it comes to getting some table plants for my bedroom and office space.
The second plant is a Swiss Cheese Plant and I love the big leaves on this one. It’s still in its plant pot on our dining room table as I’m not sure whether I want to leave it on there or put it somewhere else. I’ve also not got a plant pot holder so that’s something I need to sort soon. For this plant, there are two options and I went for the smaller of the two again . Patch Plants are already winning by requiring little effort from me!

My indoor plant obsession has definitely kicked in and providing I keep choosing indestructible plants, I should be alright. I think for our bedrooms/office space, I’m looking at getting a taller plant for the office, maybe something like a Parlour Palm or a Kentia Palm. For the bedroom, we’re more restricted on floor space so maybe some succulents that can sit on my vanity table or our bedside tables. I’m also most definitely going to get my plant pots from here while I’m at it.
