Mate, I hate this time of year. It’s so dark, so cold and it really affects my mental wellbeing. The only redeeming factor is the fashion and how cosy everything is. I love layering and so when Select Fashion wanted to work with me on a collaboration, why would I say no? Select Fashion is one fashion brand that’s been around for a while and I have to admit, I never really shopped there. However, the quality of some of this clothing that I received is amazing, so let’s dive in!
I received three items but one of them, a pair of jeans didn’t fit me well enough, so those ones are going to have to wait in the wardrobe until I’ve been to the gym…
The other two items were a cableknit grey jumper and a coat. Two essentials really that are needed in a winter wardrobe and after having had them for a couple of weeks, I’m obsessed. When it came to a coat, I have enough long coats and so I was after something that was going to be shorter and more managable in terms of taking it off when I’m on the underground. Heavy, long coats are a bit of a nuisance and if I’m going out, I want to not be carrying around a coat that’s getting in the way. Introducing the Mustard Contrast Detail Sporty Parka. This is currently on sale for £31.49. Bloody bargain if you ask me. I’m also obsessed with the colour mustard at the moment – I know, mustard. But aside from me hating it as a condiment, I love it in clothing.
The reason I chose this one out of the selection given was because this had all the elements of a coat that I wanted. The cuffed sleeves meaning that you’re less likely to get the ends messy or worn. The fleece lining within the hood and that faux fur lining around the hood is too cute. The only thing I’d say about the coat itself is that I would have preferred the pockets to be towards the side and not in front as I like shoving my hands in my pockets, even if I’m wearing gloves. The colour of this parka though does not disappoint and now I have a mustard wooly hat – my life is complete.
You should see my wardrobe now because it’s full of jumpers, both thick and then. I essentially live in jumpers through the winter time and it’s rare that you’ll see me in anything else or that any other thinner top would get a look in. This Grey Cable Detail Jumper is a mere £7.69 in the Select Fashion sale and it goes so nicely with a pair of jeans and this parka.
It’s a lovely, snug fit and I love that the cable knit detailing of the jumper varies. It is on the thinner side of jumpers, you can almost see my bra through the jumper but a vest top or cami top underneath it, would remove that problem. With Select Fashion, I’m definitely loving the prices of the outfits and that you’re still getting good quality items.
