My Go-To Makeup Routine Products

It’s interesting to look at the progress over the years when it comes to makeup I wore. I was obsessed with it when I started my blog and collaborating with a few makeup brands, signing up for subscription beauty boxes to try out new makeup.

Nowadays, though my attention has shifted more towards experimenting with skincare products and then wearing minimal makeup on top. There are certainly times when I go for a full face of makeup, but that’s only once in a blue moon.

For my ‘barely there’ makeup look, there are a few must-haves within the routine that I wanted to share with you. So let’s dive in.

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter – £39.00

The Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter is my holy grail when it comes to creating a glowy base. Regardless of how much makeup I’m putting on my face, this always goes on.

It’s a gorgeous creamy highlighter that I find doesn’t tint my face but just adds that gorgeous bronzed glow to the skin with very minimal effort or volume of product, for that matter.

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer – £29.50

An absolute beauty of a concealer. When I’m going for a no-foundation makeup look, I always have to opt for this product or my CT concealer when I need a bright burst under tired eyes.

This Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer is another loved product as it’s my second purchase of the product. It’s long-lasting, provides light to medium coverage depending on how much you apply.

Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze And Glow – £49.00

Charlotte Tilbury will forever be my go-to makeup brand. It just offers gorgeous, luxury-looking makeup, not just in the packaging but also in how it performs on the skin, too.

The Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze And Glow is a love of mine, but mainly for the bronzer. Oddly, I have two of these, but the bronzer is all used up in one and as you can see in this duo palette, the highlighter fell out.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette – Discontinued

Now I’ve looked for this online, and I don’t think it’s available anymore because I bought it while in New York some years back. However, as a palette, it’s a beauty, especially for the blushes. I think if I were to repurchase aspects of this palette, I’d opt for the Ambient Lighting Blush and the Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder.

The finishing powders are a bit meh in the palette I have, and the bronzer is a little too dark for my light/fair complexion. However, as a blush and highlighter combo, it’s very much chef’s kiss.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray – £32.00

I’ve really not had a lot of experience with setting sprays, so I think after this one, I’ll probably look at other options. I’ve tried the MAC setting spray, which is equally as good as this one. However, I think it would be useful to find a cheaper alternative.

Surratt Expressioniste Brow Pomade – £18.00

I’d never heard of Surratt before I got this product. I think this was part of a beautiful subscription box. I do love brow pomades, but I don’t like ones that make your eyebrows too stiff. I love a bit of movement and flexibility with it. This is definitely a good product. Again, like mascara, I don’t think you need to spend a fortune on brow pomade.

I have quite thick brows, so it’s a good idea to tidy and keep the bushes on top of my eyes in control.

Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes Volume 2 – £28.00

I will say that when it comes to mascaras, because I have quite full lashes anyway, I tend to look for the mascaras that add volume and lift, rather than excess product to thicken the lashes.

This one from Charlotte Tilbury is a lovely pick, and I do think a lot of Charlotte Tilbury products just work so beautifully. Would I recommend spending this amount on a mascara? No. I think you can get the same effect without spending this amount of money. I don’t think I actually got this myself, and instead, I think it was part of a Christmas set.

Rituals Fortune Lip Balm – £10.42

I usually only shop at Rituals for their bath and shower products, but Sam got me this as a freebie for buying other stuff on one occasion. It’s a lovely little lip balm and smells gorgeous. They do different scents, and the balm itself has a slight tint, so it gives the lips a bit of extra colour too.

It’s definitely something I’d purchase again, especially as the tint is subtle and pretty. It’s a good option for giving your lips a wash of colour on days when you don’t want to wear a full face of makeup.

Rhode Peptide Lip Boost – £23.00

On the odd occasion beyond just glamming up to go out, I’ll wear lipstick. On most occassions though, I’ll opt for a lip balm or lip treatment because my lips are often so cracked, dry, and sore.

Not just from my current pregnancy, but during this time of year, my lips tend to suffer. This Rhode Lip Peptide Treatment is a new one, and so far, I’m enjoying how good it feels on my lips. Not the biggest fan of the scent, but I’ve never been a fan of mint flavours when it comes to makeup products.

So that’s everything in my go-to makeup routine. Let me know what you think in the comments below.
